General

For most people, 1–2 blood tests per year are enough for basic well-being monitoring. Body composition measurements are typically recommended every 1–3 months.

If you make lifestyle changes (e.g. diet, exercise or sleep), take a follow-up measurement after 3–4 months to see the effects. For athletes, the measurement interval may be more frequent – the most important thing is consistency and comparability (e.g. the same time of day).

The results are clearly displayed in graphs in the MyJournal service. If you have symptoms or suspect an illness, make an appointment with a doctor.

We do not provide individual test recommendations, but you can compare the contents of the packages and find the right option for your needs using the comparison tool.

Many people choose the Puhti laboratory package or the Labs and body composition measurement package to monitor their overall health. The theme packages support, for example, exercise and nutrition. If you have symptoms or suspect an illness, first contact your doctor – the doctor will assess what tests you need.

All individuals who are 15 years or older, have Finnish bankID as well as a Finnish personal identity code, can place a Puhti order.

You cannot receive Kela compensation for Puhti tests or measurements. The tests are self-funded and do not require a doctor’s visit or referral. You pay for the service according to the price list. If you have an occupational health contract or insurance, check your own terms and conditions for reimbursement.

Puhti’s test packages are designed for adults who want to understand their health status and easily monitor the development of their values. The ready-made test packages include essential laboratory tests for different needs. You can purchase blood tests without a referral and have a sample taken quickly at Mehiläinen’s locations. Body measurement points are easily accessible at over 20 locations around Finland. You can get the results quickly and clearly in the MyJournal service.

If you suspect an illness or have worrying symptoms, see a doctor.

Puhti’s ready-made test packages intelligently bring together key blood tests for different needs, such as basic health monitoring, exercise support and nutritional assessment. Starter package: Labs and Body Composition Measurement is a general package that gives an overall picture of your well-being through blood tests and body measurements. The exact contents of each package and sample collection instructions can be found on the product page.

You don’t need a referral. You can purchase blood tests directly from Puhti’s website and have the sample taken at a Mehiläinen location. If you suspect an illness or have worrying symptoms, contact your doctor. If you wish, you can order a remote doctor’s consultation for an additional fee after the tests are completed in the MyJournal service.

Puhti Lab Oy is a Finnish wellness service that helps you monitor your health through blood tests and body measurements without a referral. Our goal is to make monitoring your health information easy and clear for everyone. Puhti is part of Mehiläinen, and sampling takes place at Mehiläinen’s locations.

Data protection is of paramount importance to us. All your health information is stored in server rooms in Finland, designed for healthcare services. Access to the information is limited to those professionals who need it to carry out research, and they are bound by written confidentiality. Data transfer is encrypted and we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Finnish healthcare legislation.

Samples are taken at Mehiläinen’s locations. Most of the tests are analyzed at Mehiläinen’s laboratories in Finland, and certain special tests (such as STHLM3) are performed in partner laboratories. You can conveniently see all the results in the MyJournal service.

Yes. The results are first published to MyJournal, after which the test information is also updated to OmaKanta and OmaMehiläinen approximately two days after the results are completed. In connection with the remote consultation, the doctor also records the treatment information in the Kanta archive, where Mehiläinen is listed as the service provider.

We automatically transfer the order information to Mehiläinen’s laboratory system. This means that you do not have to bring your Puhti order information or receipt to the laboratory. However, remember to bring proof of identity with you when arriving at the laboratory for the tests.

Ordering

Customers over the age of 15 can order Puhti tests. The young person must have their own online banking credentials so that they can view their results in My journal.

If the young person is a minor, we recommend that you talk to a doctor about the young person’s condition and their need for laboratory tests. Always consult a doctor first if there are any symptoms or suspicions of illness.

If you wish to order tests for more than one young person, the orders must be placed separately. This is because we need the personal details of the person to be tested when placing the order.

Add the desired tests to your cart. Enter the gift card code in the shopping cart under. Click ‘Apply coupon’. The price is then updated. Click ‘Go to checkout’.

If you have received a gift card through GoGift, enter the gift card code (not the order number) at checkout.

The Puhti gift card cannot be used at the register of Mehiläinen’s laboratory; when paying with a gift card, the order must be placed on the Puhti website before visiting the laboratory for the tests.

You can place an order on the Puhti website now and get tested later; the order is valid for one year. You can visit the laboratory whenever it suits you. Do not visit the laboratory if you are ill.

The tests in the order are taken at the same time; tests in the same order cannot be divided into different testing days.

You can select the ePassi payment option at the checkout of the Puhti online store, in which case you will be directed to the ePassi page to accept the payment.

When paying with ePassi, you can only order tests for yourself.

If the balance on the ePassi is not enough to place an order, you can transfer MyMoney from your own account to ePassi and make the payment using the ePassi benefit balance. Learn more: www.epassi.fi/fi/omaraha

The Puhti online store has various payment options. You can use, for example, online bank payments, most common credit cards, part payment, invoice, mobile payments and ePassi Health benefit.

Customers cannot pay for Puhti tests at the Mehiläinen laboratory; the tests must be ordered from the Puhti website before visiting the laboratory.

You can add the desired individual tests to the ready-made test panels. The tests in the order are taken at the same time; tests in the same order cannot be divided into different testing days.

If you experience any problems with payment, please check the following:

At what point did the problem occur, on the Puhti page or on the bank’s page? If you have any problems with your bank’s website, please contact the bank.

Is there a maintenance break on your bank’s website? Wait about an hour and then try the payment again. If there is still a problem, please contact Puhti’s customer service, for example via the chat.

Try a different payment method.

Check that you have filled in all the information correctly.

Have you accepted the terms and conditions and clicked “Proceed to payment”?

Does your device have a good network connection?

If you are making the payment on your mobile phone, be sure to return from the online bank to the page where you placed the order after you have made the payment.

Do you have a coupon code? Did you enter the code correctly and is the code still valid? Please note! No spaces should be typed before or after the code.

If the previous steps did not help, please contact Puhti’s chat.

You can add new tests by ordering them normally from the Puhti page. In the laboratory, the sampler will see all your open orders in the system and take the samples at once when you tell them you want to combine the samples. Puhti tests cannot be purchased at the laboratory cashier – the order is always made online. Please note that this does not apply to body measurements at the self-service point, which are done separately.

The order must always be filled in with the details of the person to be tested. If you want to order tests as a gift for someone else, gift cards are available. The gift card is used in Puhti’s online store, and the recipient of the gift can decide which test package they want to order.

Body Composition Measurement

  • Buy the measurement package from puhti.fi.
  • Read the preparation instructions carefully.
  • Go to the measurement point and open the door.
  • Check on the measuring device that the ID and the mobile phone number are the same, i.e., DO NOT change the mobile phone number.
  • Clean the equipment with cleaning wipes.
  • Take off your socks and outerwear. The device will automatically deduct one kilogram from the measurement result.
  • First, measure your blood pressure.
  • Second, step on the device and follow its instructions.
  • Finally, measure your hand grip strength.
  • Step off the device, and the measurement will end automatically.
  • Clean the equipment with cleaning wipes.
  • See the results on your report. You will receive a text message notification when the results are ready.

Note! If you are an old user of the service (Bodymaja), you can also log in to your results via email at https://app.omabody.fi/login. This feature will be removed in 2026, which is why we recommend switching to the Oma Puhti service as soon as possible at https://oma.puhti.fi/.

If the grip strength meter is displaying pounds instead of kilograms, you can switch the unit as follows:

  • Turn on the power of the grip strength meter.
  • Squeeze the handle with half of your strength while, at the same time, briefly pressing the device’s power button (for about 1-2 seconds).
  • This action will change the measurement unit from pounds to kilograms.

Laboratory Test

Please note that most of the test packages do not require fasting. More detailed information can be found on the page of each test panel or individual test. Individual tests that require fasting are marked with a lowercase letter f in the test code.

Try to sleep, eat, drink, exercise and work normally during the days before the test. The day before the test, try to have your meals at your usual mealtimes. Heavy stress or an intense sports performance on the previous day or the same day, for example, can also affect the values.

First, order the tests on the Puhti website. After that, you will receive instructions for testing. The sample collection takes place at Mehiläinen laboratories, available in about 75 locations in 50 different cities. Please note! Most of the Mehiläinen laboratories serve customers only by appointment. You can see the locations of Mehiläinen laboratories here. You can book an appointment for laboratory testing here.

BODY COMPOSITION MEASUREMENTS AS SELF-SERVICE MEASUREMENT

Puhti’s body composition measurements are done as a self-service in the largest shopping centers. You have access to 24 shopping centers across Finland. You can find these shopping centers on the locations page.

We recommend getting tested right away so that you can keep track of changes in your health. It is a good idea to find out the baseline before starting your exercise regimen or making other lifestyle changes so that you can see the effects of the changes in your test results. Seeing how your test results improve can motivate you to continue with your lifestyle changes. The baseline results and follow-up test results are updated on the same report in My journal, making it easy to see your progress.

If you have booked an appointment at the laboratory, you can register at the reception and take a seat and wait for your turn.

All you need to bring with you is proof of identity (such as your driver’s license, identity card or passport).

If you have placed a separate additional order and want to have all the tests taken at the same time, be sure to inform the laboratory.

After Laboratory Tests

The results are displayed as an easy-to-read report in the My journal section. We have tried to make the report as simple and clear as possible. We have received a lot of praise from our customers for the clarity of our reports!

The results can be viewed on mobile or on a computer. The results are presented graphically, and the next time you get tested, the new results are updated in the same graphs. In certain tests, the value is not accurately determined after a certain limit, because it has no diagnostic significance.

If the value is marked with red, the value falls outside the reference values. If the value is marked with green, it falls within the reference values. Some of the values also have a yellow area between them, which indicates a small deviation from the reference values.

The results can be saved as a PDF file that opens with Adobe Acrobat, for example. If you wish, you can also print the results on paper.

See an example of a Puhti report here.

Log in to My journal with your banking credentials. You will not be able to log in until you have ordered the tests from the Puhti website.

If you cannot log in to My journal, here’s what you can try:

Try using a different browser or computer/phone.

Try logging in to My journal again in about an hour. Server downtime may cause login errors.

Contact us via the chat or over the phone.

In our opinion, the interpretation of laboratory results does not need to be difficult. That is why we have made the report very visually clear and easy to read. The report shows whether your results fall within the reference values and what the different values mean. We will tell you what the different indicators are connected to and how you can influence them.

Through Puhti, you can also easily book a remote appointment with a doctor as a separate service, during which you can go through all the results.

However, our test packages do not include a personal interpretation or diagnosis of your results by a doctor. Always consult a doctor if you suspect a disease or have symptoms.

You can see the results in the MyJournal service, which you log in to with your Finnish bank account credentials.

We will clearly illustrate with a report which values are within the reference range and what the results mean. When all the results are ready, you can print or download them in PDF format. The results of body composition measurements will also be visible in OmaKanta from early 2026.

If you wish, you can order a remote doctor’s consultation directly from MyJournal for an additional fee. The service does not include automatic medical interpretation or diagnosis – if you suspect an illness or have symptoms, seek a doctor’s opinion.

Many of the results included in our test packages are usually completed the day after the sample collection.

As soon as the results are ready, we will send you email and SMS notifications. You can view the results on the My journal page.

After the tests, you can order a remote consultation with a Mehiläinen doctor as a separate service directly in the My journal report. The consultation with a doctor is not included in the price of the laboratory package.
