How should I prepare for laboratory test?

Most of the Puhti test panels do not require fasting. Information on fasting can be found on the page of the test panel or individual test. See more detailed instructions for testing.

Individual tests that require fasting are marked with a lowercase f in front of the test code (e.g. glucose fP-Gluk). Tests that require fasting are carried out in the morning after an overnight fast (8–12 hours). You can drink a glass of water in the morning.

Certain tests require a specific time of day for sample collection (e.g. testosterone between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., cortisol between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.). This is also mentioned on the product page.

Do not visit the laboratory if you are ill.
